D-Cinelike Corrective LUTs
Hey there! If you've landed on this page, it's probably because you've come across videos featuring the now ‘Legacy’ D-Cinelike LUTs. While those LUTs were great and still work, I created some brand new, improved D-Cinelike Conversion and Enhancement LUTs. If you want to pick up the Legacy LUTs instead though, you’re more than welcome to as they’re still available.
WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE LEGACY LUTS AND THE NEW LUTS?
The Legacy pack includes three LUTs: Normal, Strong, and Vibrant. In the new pack, there are 8: Subtle, Light, Midi, and Heavy, each with a vibrant counterpart.
The new LUTs aim to maintain the original exposure levels of your footage, while the Legacy LUTs slightly reduce the exposure. This adjustment was recommended because shooting in D-Cinelike often requires slightly overexposing the footage to get the best results, and this is something that I would still suggest. However, in cases where you didn't do that or shot in Auto exposure, you may notice that your footage may appear slightly darker when applying the Legacy LUTs. While you can increase the exposure in the edit before or after applying a Legacy LUT, the new LUT pack makes it easier for you by reducing the need for such adjustments. Additionally, there are 3 new Enhancement LUTs included.
